Tulip festival - holland (Keukenhof Gardens)

From Amsterdam we traveled by train to Haalem. At the station there you can get your ticket on the bus to Lisse, where the Keukenhof Gardens are. It’s a bit like Disney land but for flowers, but well worth seeing. Be sure one you seen the flowers inside the garden, take a walk outside as well to see the fields of flowers, all very impressive.

Les Houches & Chamonix

We stayed in Les Houches. It was cheaper than the bigger resorts, but still quiet easy to get to each of the different ski resorts around by the free bus. It was end of season (Mid April 09), but there was still the best powder & you could ski in a T-shirt which was awesome!

Steve & Danielle stayed with us for a few days on there way through to Paris & then Egypt. We did the Boom Chicago boat which was great. It’s a free boat tour of the Amsterdam canals, but it’s a nice idea to give a donation at the end. For the tour you have to go into Boom Chicago & put your name down. . . make sure you do it ahead of the day as it fills up fast. Also did a comedy night at Boom Chicago which is well worth doing.

Den Hague day

Anil organised for us to go to Den Hague for Chinese new year. We also visited Madurodam which is a tram ride out of Den Hague and is a must see! It is mini models of The Netherlands, including working railways & shipping yards. . . very cool! We also did a bit of bowling, whaich I haven’t done in ages.
